Are there any volunteer abroad programs that are free or really inexpensive?

Does anyone know of any affordable volunteer abroad programs?

• I am a college student looking to volunteer abroad this summer. I go to a small college, and they don't really offer a lot of good volunteering abroad programs. Because of this, I am looking to go through an organization. I am looking to volunteer abroad for a week or two this summer. I really want to work with children. As for budget, i don't want to spend over $2000 with airfare. I have already looked into orphanage outreach. Does anyone know of any other programs?

  I did a program earlier this year with a company called Expanish in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I signed up for a one month volunteer program and it was around US$1100, and that included living in a shared apartment in the city. I guess with that price and a flight to Argentina you might be able to keep it under US$2000. It was a great program and i had the most amazing time in Argentina, i would recommend it to anyone!
