Huge Charity event on a poor budget, how to get a place to host it and food?

• can i ask a deli to donate veggie platters and sandwich trays? i want to raise money for the SPCA by throwing a party type thing where ppl come and donate. they need something to snack on and i was thinking gift bags but im kinda broke so its hard for me to plan a big event its for a nice cause would ppl help me out?

  To be able to ask for "in-kind donations" (like veggie platters, sandwich trays, or even the use of a place to host your do), the benefiting agency (in your case, the SPCA) really has to know that you're doing it. They need to be aware that you're using their name to solicit these donation, so they can recognize/thank the donor. Otherwise any Joe could walk into the deli and try to talk them into donating sandwiches for a charity event (when what he's really throwing is a get together for himself and his friends).
