How to set up an auction online for charity?

Charity fundraising - help with name the bear?

  • i am looking to holding a charity auction, the venue can hold 300 people and as a side line we are going to have small tables set up with the smaller game £1 a go kinda things like name the bear etc. would it be crazy/stupid/unreasonable to make a name the bear with 300 names (£1 each person attending) . If not - any ideas of teddy names - we threw together a measly 60 at first try. is this a stupid idea????

  • Answer:

We normally go with about 50-70 names at our school fetes, but if it's a really good quality teddy then go for more . We also get a football & do a grid of teams and work that in the same way with the person who picks the winning team getting the football. I know some people out there might think it's old-hat, but a good quality tombola usually raises quite a lot of funds. Good luck & hope you raise plenty of funds for your chosen charity.

Why do you think it is a stupid idea? I think it is a great idea. Try to have the bear's name a common name or you will not get a winner. You have 60 names already. That should be enough. Wish you the best of luck.
