How to Donate to Goodwill?

Please don't donate to Goodwill,but give to the poor!?

  • I think it's really dumb when people donate to goodwill,while they could be giving it to someone who really needs it. Goodwill sells it anyway.

    I think you might have a point. The good thing a distribution center does is collect, clean and tag the merchandise. It would be really hard to put a hundred pounds of clothing and food in the back of my car right now and start down the street and give it away. I know some places but it would be hard to do. Seriously, I like your question and if you have any ways to give it to people without going through goodwill, I would love to know.

just don't donate to any organizations, it's all a scammed.

The money that they get from selling those donations, goes to pay for the goodwill's Job programs that they have for the handicapped. I know this because Goodwill is a non-profit organization, they use those donations, to pay the people with handicaps. I also know this because I work for Goodwill Industries, I just don't work in the stores. If you stop donating to the goodwill stores, that means those Job programs will lose money. If that occurs, then it could lead to people with handicaps losing their jobs. Those who are competitively employed are not affected by these donations. So, if you stop donating to the stores, you hurt no one but the people in the Job programs. Most of the people in these programs are poor.

Homeless people with addictions which include drug's and alcohol aren't in a right state of mind to be given money because you know that they're going to buy booze/drugs to fuel that addiction. Give to organization's which finds housing for homeless people.
