Charities Minimum Monthly Donations?
-
Most charities I see say that the minimum they can accept each month is £3. I have seen others as much as £5! However, I have seen a few at £2, a couple of them at £1 and even have seen a few that will accept anything! Even 1p. So why will some charities accept 1p whilst others are wanting £5? (There might be some that want more than a minimum £5) Some times they say its due to admin costs etc Can somebody explain that to me also? So many charities that I want to give regular donations to but I just cant afford £5 for each one

Answer:
The paperwork involved of the nonprofit reporting to the Taxing Authority is monumental. To do 1 or 2 hours of paperwork for such a small donation is not helping the charity but just costing them money.
