What is an average day like at job corps?

Will the Peace Corps take me?

• I'm a twenty one year old female who will be earning my certificate in Massage Therapy in July. The plan was to graduate, get a good job and my own apartment in or close to my home town, and continue with my life in an ordinary manner (get married some day, have a family and the like). However, for a long time now, I've been feeling frustrated with this plan that has been feeling more and more unappealing every day. About a year ago, I began researching the Peace Corps, but gave up when I thought that I wouldn't be able to join due to my lack of college education and knowing how incredibly useless a Massage Therapy certificate would be to the Peace Corps. However, today I started doing a little more research and now am just confused as to what, exactly, I will need to be able to join, as far as an education goes. In all other terms, I understand that it is a huge commitment and a very hard job to handle (and I've learned all about the difficult application process). However, I feel like I really need this sort of change in my life, and this isn't something I'm taking lightly. So then (aimed at former Peace Corps volunteers), do you think the Peace Corps take me once I've graduated?

  There are people who are in the Peace Corps who do not have college degrees - but they DO have work experience (as in, ten years or more) of a highly desirable skill the host country has specifically asked for, like water engineering or agricultural knowledge. So you're pretty much going to need a bachelor's degree if you want to join. They also look at work history, volunteer experience, and languages. It doesn't sound like you're in a good place to apply right now, but if you work on those things, you might be in a few years.
