Volunteer opportunities in the NYC area?!?

Hi I'm a 16 year old girl and I'd like to volunteer for a cause or anything really. I'm open minded and up for anything. I'm looking for a good place to volunteer in manhattan. Community service hours would be awesome. So Does anyone know of a place to volunteer (that they've preferably Volunteered at and can share their experience) or if someone needs a volunteer? Soup kitchen, animal shelter, senior home, hospital, daycare, etc
