Ways for a teen to raise money?

What are some good ways to raise money for charity?

  • As part of our "leavers' legacy" (it is our final year at secondary school before university) my all-girl year group has decided to raise money to send girls to school in Africa. Our target is to raise £140 ($220) a week for about 10 weeks, so to raise about £1,500 by the end. There are about 150-200 students in my year group, and we're all keen to help raise the money in time. Our school is always holding fund raising events like cake sales etc. for charity, so we want to come up with something different, or simply something that everyone will want to buy/pay for. There are altogether about 2,000 students in my school, and more than 100 staff, so plenty to potentially earn the money from! If you have any ideas, or successful fund raising advice or tips, that would be so helpful! Thanks!

in year 10 we held a massive enterprise fair and raised over a thousand pounds in one day. We had different stalls where you could either buy stuff or play games to win prizes. But thats probably way too much for what your planning to do. In year 7 I went round with some friends (now not my friends) and we sold badges for Children in Need. We also do cake sales and toast sale. We also have in the food tech department foods from different countries which we can buy to try or we try it then bu it if we want (I've never gone to get anything from em). I found this website (haven't looked at it much due to not having the time) but its got a list of fundraising ideas for schools http://www.better-fundraising-ideas.com/school-fundraising.html. Heres another website http://www.how2fundraise.org/fundraising-ideas/fundraising-ideas-for-schools

Sell something valuable but not too expensive like selling cupcakes or soups in the canteen of a blood bank. Staffs and many people inside blood banks need something delicious to eat after a busy day or after the donation process.
