Is World Charity Organisation a real Organisation?

Would you join this charity organisation?

  • A charity organisation that requires that you donate one food item i.e a cereal box, a can of baked beans A month...and it goes to those in somalia suffering from famine right now...if this charity organisation has a centre in the middle of each city centre...do you think a lot of people would join or not and why? thanks x

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but since you're asking about charity I thought I would tell you about a shopping site that donates part of their sales to charities. Check it out at: http://astore.amazon.com/moneys0d-20

My problem with donating to such a charity would be that I couldn't believe it could give appropriate aid to the people who need it. The areas subject to the worst famine are under the control of vicious war lords who don't allow charity missions access to the starving people. A cereal box by itself won't do ay good unless it got to people who also had fresh milk or water. This is a real and major problem but it's best left to the expert large charities such as Oxfam

To be honest charities prefer money donations To have people donate tins and biscuits isn't very cost effective unless the charity placed donation bins in every large supermarket But then the charity have the logistics of picking up these donations which takes time and money I have seen large bins in supermarkets for donations of dog food etc but that is for the local homeless pet home, and is a local initiative

i'd be a lot more willing to give to that kind of charity than to the current crop who try to ambush you in the streets and get you to sign up to giving them money each month. I'd feel safe that the food i donated would be less likely to end up in the pockets of the charity, or be wasted on adverts and overheads.

Hi. I don't know. but the link below, even though it's only for the US, might help... I suppose the organisations rated highly on there would perform well on an international basis as well.
