Trying to raise about £1500 pounds for a trip to an orphanage in India...?

I am going to India with my college next September, a trip which will include visiting the Goodwill Village, an orphanage, to which we plan to make a donation. I need to raise at least £200 but £1500 would be better as it would help me give more money to the children and would also pay for my trip to India which is pretty costly and I don't really have that much money to spare. Any inventive fundraising ideas?

OH how brilliant for u .....its nice that someone does something nice! maybe: in your local pub just have a drinking Competition and someway get money maybe if they lose or a sponsored walk/run ....around your local area a karaoke night for all ages and entry fee may £5.00 ....it will all add up. well good-luck anyway xx

Sounds like you should try to help the orphans in your own home town. I organized a bicycle event in about 2 weeks by myself and raised $2000.00.

Basically go door to door for sponsors for a sponsored run. If you tell them that it is to visit orphans then they will surely pay up, im pretty tight with money but if someone is visiting orphans than I would help.
