Medical and health service managers?

I want to volunteer in a health center for community service hours. What does assisting w/medical record mean?

  • Is it like recording medical stuff or something like that? Do you think it's boring assisting with medical record? I want volunteer to do this cuz I want to be a dentist in the future, and I think it would be beneficial for me. Do you think this will benefit me if I want to become a dentist? Thanks!

    Basically, it means filing. Boring, and kind of tiring, stuff. I don't think it would help out, but you could definitely talk about it with them and maybe get transferred into a dental department, and hopefully get some good contacts that you can later ask for recommendations from. :)

doing medical records probably means using CPT and ICD-9 codes which are different from dental codes. If you're into dentistry, this job won't help.
