What are some creative ways to "pay it forward"?

  • I just saw a story on Yahoo about a two hour stretch at a Starbucks during which everyone was paying the check for the car behind them. What are some other ways to pay it forward?

    Every year I pick some one special at the bank,post office, or grocery store to surprise with a christmas gift. These are the people that often get forgotten around the holidays and its a wonderful surprise.

Rake leaves or run errands for some senior citizens. Carry groceries for a mom with toddlers at the grocery store. Volunteer at your local food bank, animal shelter or other charities.

It's around Christmas time, why not find some needy families and purchase Christmas gifts for their kids. There are many kids not getting gifts for Christmas since their families are unable to afford it.

I don't know if that's it really a pay it forward kind of thing. I would do something a little less superficial than that. Like give a helping hand to someone who really down on their luck. Homeless , someone who may of lost a job, a child who may need an adult in their life. Maybe some one you know is house bound, you can help them clean or shop. visit some one who may be in the hospital and has no family. There are so many things to do just think about it and I'm sure you will come up with more.The important thing is that what ever it may be it has meaning to you that way you really are paying it forward.It must come from the heart.
