How do I host a charity event?

NEED HELP! charity event question!!?

  • I am hosting a charity event. Its my first time and I have some questions If I'm asking people to sponsor my event so I can get the place to host the event and etc If they want to donate money-- who do they write the check to- Because some money will go to the event, but most to the charity. but I am confused as to who they write it to..

    They would write the check to the charity that you are working for, or associated with. The sponsors, and the charity would pay for the event. So they would write there donation check to the charity you are hosting the event for. If you don't mind me prying, I'm quite curious. What charity are you hosting the event for, and what kind of event?

Only a registered nonprofit may solicit donations. You did get written permission to operate this event in the charities name, correct. Contact them and arrange for the charity to accept the donations and pay for all the events expenses.
