How do I raise money for a good cause?

It's been put on my heart to raise money for a Christian missions trip project called Speed the Light. I don't want just a small amount. I think I'm determined to get a big amount :) I have a while.. 8 months! That's when I'm turning it in. At summer camp. But the thing is, I don't know how to raise money for it! Any ideas?

Have other people help you in your cause. alo more people will stop by if they see a crowd there so they wont feel so isolated. also target crowded areas or areas frequently passed by. maybe by a stoplight or at the mall? Be able to explain your cause and make it sound dire.
