What are some volunteer abroad programs for teens?

Are there any animal volunteer programs for teens in the Bay Area?

• I love animals and I want to volunteer over the summer. I will be 14 in a month. I will be a freshman come next august. I can't volunteer with my mom because she is allergic to fur. I was looking for something local to me. San Mateo County. I know that both the SF and Oakland Zoo's have programs, but that's far to drive for me. Pacifica is fine too. Any ideas are welcome. To become a junior volunteer, start by completing a Volunteer Application. Your on-line application will be forwarded to the Volunteer Services Department at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. If you need an application sent to you, contact Brian Probst, Manager of Volunteer Services, at 650/340-7022, ext. 328 or [email protected]. Once your application is received, you will be invited to attend the next New Volunteer Orientation and should RSVP by the specified deadline. Space is limited. You must also complete a Junior Volunteer Program Waiver (download and print). Have your parent/guardian sign the waiver and bring it with you to the orientation.
