What's the best way to involve others in a fundraiser?

  • I'm having a fundraiser, through the Aids Outreach Center to help raise AIDS awareness, and benefit those who are suffering from AIDS. The fundraiser was inspired by my stepdad, whom I lost to the disease, last year. The website is www.firstgiving.com/kenken. What is the best way to get others involved? Thanks so much!

    Get your friends and family involved first. Then they can tell people about it. The more people you have talking about it, more opportunites for others to get involved. Advertise it in the local paper. Ask local stores if you can tape an advertisement to the door. Most people really enjoy giving to a worthy cause. They just usally don't want to give a lot of money at one time. And a lot of people don't mind giving if they are too getting something back in return, such as selling food, candy, car wash, etc. Good luck.

The best way to get people involved is to allow them to share something of themselves. People want to talk about themselves. We're all self-involved. Let's say for example you tell people for $20 they can have a family photo printed in a calendar or something like that.
