What type of job experiance does the Peace Corp look for?

• I am currently a student and I am looking for ideas on jobs or volunteer work that could give me the type of experiance needed to join the peace corp. If someone could give me some advice I would really appreciate it.

  Have you seen this page from the official Peace Corps website? http://www.peacecorps.gov/index.cfm?shell=learn.whatvol It lists the skill and education requirements for all the Peace Corps programs. All the programs require either a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Your actual degree doesn't always matter, though; a lot of liberal arts majors serve and end up teaching English. They qualify by doing about 30 hours or 3 months of ESL tutoring prior to service -- one-on-one, classroom, paid or volunteer tutoring experiences are all acceptable. Also, knowledge of a foreign language is *not* a requirement for all programs. Knowledge of Spanish is required for most programs in Central and South America, and knowledge of French is required for some programs in Africa, but many programs have no language requirements.
