    being of service to others isnt about being great, but it is about fulfilling something. everyone is created with special gifts and abilities and when people share what they are individually given, it makes the world symbiotic. If the aspects of myself that can help others are left to be unused, then I am unfulfilled and others suffer as well. Being of service to others makes the world more seamless. It helps take away pain and doubt and fear, both in those less fortunate is certain ways, and those more fortunate.

U get out of your way to help others while you could have been doing something else.

It doesn't make you "great" it shows that you care about the community or a cause when you donate your time. You don't do volunteer work to achieve greatness or accolades you do it because it is something you are moved to do. this comes for a 20+ year volunteer veteran.
