Ideas for charity work for a junior in high school?

At school our head teacher has asked us to spare 67 minutes of our time to do charity work. Any Ideas?

  • We have to do this to honor Nelson Mandela as he has given 67 years(!!!) of his life to helping the world, so we have to give at least 67 minutes of our time to helping the world. I would be grateful for any ideas given! Thanks... x

    go around and pick up trash, especially if you live near a beach. volunteer to read to children. recycle, turn off lights in empty rooms, etc.

Picking up trash is always fun, just make sure that all your valuables are locked up if you take the trash home.

Why don't you go on a fun, inexpensive shopping trip and pick up nice shower gels, soaps, lotions, cute clothes, cosmetics...basically anything that you or any female would like. Box it all up and mail it to your local women's shelter. You could also buy a package of unisex bar soap like Ivory and distribute it to homeless people in your town.

What a great idea. I'd recommend going to an old persons home / hostel. I did this in my High School years and it is the one thing I am grateful for doing. You can offer to assist or entertain or just sit and visit with the elderly who's families don't visit them or visit them once a year.

How about offering help working in a Charity Shop? They probably need extra help with volunteers wanting some time off. A great idea, I love the sentiment.
