Volunteering at a hospital?

Volunteering at Great Ormond St. Hospital or Kings College Hospital?

  • (you might not want to bother reading this bit) I was fundraising for children in need last week. I did a sponsored silence and then me and my friends did a bake sale and we raised £200.10 altogether yay. Anyway there was this bitter old man in a wheelchair and he was saying how some children are better off dead... He also said how most of the money we've raised will probably not even go to the children after all the 'cuts' have been taken out of it by companies and so it's better to do things directly. He then asked if I'd ever been to Great Ormond St. Hospital to read to children or whatever and I haven't so I said no. But my nephew was born with gastroschisis so I know what it's like to be in a hospital with kids and I know how sad it is when parents don't come to visit their kids. I don't know everything's different I guess because I know this guy who got hit by a bus and he was in a coma but he's a dick to everyone. His mum stood by him through all of it and he's even a dick to her. (the actual question) I want to volunteer at Great Ormond St. Hospital or Kings College (that's where my nephew was at) because, I don't know really. The bitter man got me thinking and I usually say I hate kids but that's when they're moaning they're being bratty and spoiled (what my nephew is like now) I'm 16 by the way. I did some googling for GOSH and there was something about you having to be 18? Isn't there some way around that or am I looking at the wrong thing? I just can't find any direct information. ):

  • Answer:

If the age requirement is 18, then it's 18 - no way around it.
