How to raise money to for a charity that ends slavery?
-
In my Advanced English class (don't ask me why I'm doing this for an English class), our class is doing a project that involves raising a decent amount of money to donate to a charity that ends slavery in various countries around the world. Our group has to raise money for India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. We can't spend too much money because we're trying to make a decent profit, annnd we're 14 so we don't really run into too much money. Bake sales are over used and don't make too much money. I was thinking selling custom t-shirts on Cafepress, but they can be really pricey. We were considering shooting someone out of a cannon but we can't find any cannon rentals or anyone that is willing to be shot out of the cannon. So are some ideas that you've used or that you've seen that have worked that raise a decent amount of money?

Answer:
Selling T-shirts or wrist bands would be a great idea! Try partnering up with a local non-profit organization and they can give you discounts in your ventures. There are many great organizations that you could directly donate to, such as UNICEF, which is the primary source of trying to prevent slavery in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. You could also actively form a club at your school to help provide funding to prevent slavery from happening in these countries. You could ask your school Key Club or any other organization at your school that would be willing to partner up with you to help bring awareness to the issue at hand. You could ask a local corporation or non-profit organization to help donate to your cause and you could partner up with a non-profit organization to help you on attaining a certain amount of supplies or money to send. If you start a club, you could ask for a grant from an organization that is involved in helping prevent slavery. You could ask your local PTSA for money to donate to start your project. Best of luck to you! Thanks for being an altruistic and unselfish person. There's not a lot of people like you in the world, but if there were, the world would be a tremendously better place. Source(s): My school has a club called H2OPE for Uganda where we seek to provide water wells to parts of Uganda that lack potable water. We have partnered with a local non-profit organization called Quench and Connect, which is based in the La Jolla area of San Diego. Last year, we sent science supplies to schools in Uganda by receiving grants from corporations such as Fisher-Price. We are planning to sell bracelets from non-profit organizations, in which to profits go to fund women empowerment in Uganda. The bracelets are directly made by woman in Uganda.
