What's it like doing community service at an animal shelter?

Would this help me get to go to animal shelter in community service?

• so in school we have a program community service. and i wnt to go to the animal shelter. but the prblem is like everyone wants to go there. so lots of people get sent somewhere else. but one of the reasons i really want to go there is because i already went there for a while..i know who it works and i love it there. if i tell them i already go there, would that help my chances of getting to go to community service
