How do you raise money for a cause?

How would I get a company to sponser my cause and raise money?

• Visiting Ethiopia has opened my eyes to how many children can't afford to get an education and being from Ethiopia but living in America makes me feel lucky because that could have been me but at the same time it was very emotional for me to see that. As a senior year project, I would like to raise money so that children can get the school supplies and just afford to go to school. The children are the future. But I'm not sure how to go about it, I haven't even found a charity that will work with me and that shares my cause. Thanks in advance for helping me with this.

  The truth is that in order to get a corporate donation, you are going to have to get the donation made out to an organization that has a 501c3. Corporations have to follow certian guidelines in their giving. However, if you want to get some money together, find your organization, and then ask for donations from smaller businesses, people you know, people in churches, etc. Then send the donation to the organization. Don't forget to thank everyone who donates and follow up with them by a phone call or mail to tell them what you did with the money.
