Does anyone know about any overseas volunteer opportunities that are not Christian-based?
-
I'd love to join a group and go overseas somewhere to volunteer, but I don't want to go on a mission trip. I'm not Christian, so I'd feel like a hypocrite if I went on a mission trip. I just want to volunteer in a foreign country for a week or so. Do you know of any organizations/groups that do that?? Please give me as much information as you can't, as I don't know where to start!! Thank you very much for all your help :)

I answered Aowyn's question, and she had replied she thought it was only long term but there are quite a few where you can go for a week or two. For some reason I can't figure out how to get a message to her!Aownyn- if you read this too, just go thru the list and see what the farms are looking for, I know I've seen several where you can just go for a week. In the meantime, I'll copy that answer here too: Definitely! I did so much research looking for the same thing and I just wrote an article about it. There is not a big fee or anything either. Both Wwoof and Help Exchange list organic farms and similar things all over the world where you volunteer for a few hours a day 4-5 days a week for free room and board. The fee for Help Exchange is about $28 for 2 years and Wwoof has fees for each country for about the same.. there is more info here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1917236/opportunities_for_travel_throughout.html?cat=48
