How long does the bronze medallion course last?

What will I learn throughout my Bronze Medallion course?

I signed up for a bronze medallion course at the local YMCA, & will be starting on Saturday... This course, is the first course, of the 3 courses that I need to become a certified lifeguard... Have you took the bronze medallion course, if so, what kind of stuff should I be prepared to learn (swimming or aquatic resque)??.... I would just like to come into the course a little more prepared... Any tips/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have completed the Bronze Medallion course. After completion you will have your first aid B certificate. The course allows you to learn how to properly rescue a life in a water environment or non- water environment. You will learn to treat heart attacks, angina, strokes, choking, unconscious victims, and most importantly learn to what to do in a high presssure situation yourself. BTW: I am now enrolled in the Bronze Cross Course. YOU NEED BRONZE MEDALLION, BRONZE CROSS, AND NLS to BECOME A LIFEGUARD
