Fundraising Ideas for Volunteering Abroad?

• Hello all! I'm a college student and I will be leading a group of fellow college students on a group abroad next January (2009) to complete two weeks of volunteer work. We haven't chosen the country we will be going to yet, but that is of little matter. What we really need is some ideas to raise money as a group! We estimate with the airfair most volunteer programs that we've looked at abroad will cost $2,000 or less per a person. Any ideas you could give for raising money would be great! If you've fundraised before, especially at the college level, I'd love to hear from you! If you could provide any weblinks to sites with good ideas, that would be great too. More information: Our group is comprised of college students at a state university. We are a non religious group (we are part of a service organization). Thanks!
