How do you setup a donation website for earthquake relief?

How can I help earthquake victims in Haiti if I can't afford a cash donation?

  • I am literally broke. I've got no money at all. Except some pocket change that I will gladly donate to my church, who does mission work in Haiti. What I do have is two big trash bags full of baby clothes that I thought might be able to be put to good use for a family in Haiti. Does anyone know any organizations who can take and use a donation like that to help earthquake victims?

if you don't have any money, you should fundraise. It takes work, but you can earn a lot of money. I'm a high school student and I have made thousands of dollars in fundraising, all for causes. They don't have to cost you anything. Here are some ideas - call family and friends & have a potluck dinner and ask everyone to bring donations - have a potluck dinner at your church and ask everyone to bring donations - have a silent auction - get someone you know who's in a band to have a show and make the tickets like $5, then donate all the money to a reputable charity - do something your good at (eg. run 25 km) and get people to sponsor you - there are so many more ideas!

The body of Christ has many parts...some don't seem as important as others according to the world. Simply praying may be just the thing God has called you for. God's Will will be done, no matter what you do. -------------------------- In response to the "Thumbs down" for the above answer...if you are either a heathen or "works-righteous", you may want to do the following. Everyone and their brother are donating out the wazoo everything and anything, doing super-fundraisers, working their way to in effort to feel good somehow about this terrible situation. Think...As there are countless supplies and workers sitting and waiting to get into Haiti due to the overload of supplies and workers and limited access, why not wait. In a few weeks the needs are going to be far worse...just when people are tired of donating, tired of working, tired of the same old news. At that time the major needs will rise to the top of the list, the scams will have had their fill, you'll have a better idea where to direct your funds, or donations, etc, and you'll be giving with thoughtful direction, instead of just throwing money into the open mouth of the beast where most will be squandered as it was with Katrina. Be wise with your resources to Haiti, and to yourself. The popularity of this disaster will fade, but the needs will remain. Continue to pray. God is soverign...this was not accident...many people will be saved by Jesus and grow in righteousness due to this disaster - as I am the ultimate hypocrite, He knows I need this growth more than most.

Anyone with a mobile phone and an account with a major wireless carrier can text the phrase “Haiti” to the number 90999 and donate $10 to the Red Cross. That amount is charged to the donor’s cellphone bill.

the most efficient answer can be read on the salvation army blog: ''Many people are asking how they can help relief efforts for those suffering in Haiti. Our most crucial need is monetary donations, which will equip our disaster relief teams with the funds they need to acquire critical supplies and resources. The Richards Group has put together a great PSA about how you can provide much needed aid through your cell phone – just text ‘HAITI’ to 52000, and $10 will be donated directly to The Salvation Army World Service Office who has staff currently working in or en route to Port-au-Prince.'' So maybe you could do like i'm doing, try to find something you are good at, literally anything, and try to sell it, with all proceeds sent to an organization.. food, clothing, jewelry, paintings.. anything seriously.. sell it to family members, friends, coworkers.. sometime people will feel ok with buy something but not with donating.. last advice, if you do follow through with this 'making something' idea, i suggest finding which organization you will donate too in advance so people are feeling safer.. Good luck :)

Do a fund raiser, there are also some things they will need that all of us have: blankets, clothing, anything that we use or need on a daily basis they will be in need of. Plastic tarps would be very beneficial. Perhaps do a some type of drive to gather a bunch of these items and then take them to the Red Cross or some agency that can get them where they need to go.

take an old pair of shoes to shoe pavilion

hey y'all

If they have plenty of farm, they wouldn't need our help. They are too lazy to grow food crop and keep livestock. But noooo, 90% of people were in labor force

I'd rather be here.
