Has anyone ever done a volunteer vacation?

Has anyone done any Americorp programs? (Or any other volunteer work)?

I was looking into joining an Americorps program since I'm in between graduating with my associates and transferring to a university. I was thinking of staying in my state for now. Do they have state programs or all overseas? Is it a good experience, worth it etc.? Or have you done any other volunteer programs that are rewarding?

AmeriCorps is USA focused. Some AmeriCorps people want to serve in their own states, some express a desire to go to a different state. The web site has complete information, and you can view actual position openings. AmeriCorps is an amazing experience. I work with AmeriCorps and VISTA members, and they are people I would most certainly look to hire were I in a position to do such.
