I want to start a non profit.

I want to start a non-profit group for teens.?

  • i am a teen myself, im 14. And I want to start a non-profit charity type group for teenagers, to discuss and promote healthy self image, bullying support, self harm support, ect. I come from a town were things like this are big problems, or where the kids really want to help, but no one knows how to get stuck into stuff. I have a lot of past in mental health probelms but i dont want to involve myown problems in it, i want to organize. I was thinking once i had got it up and runnign to get community halls to lend out rooms for events, and moeny raised could be distributed to various charitys (railway children, teen charitys), and really bring this big issue up to face teens. What do you think? how can i get it established in my community, who can i get to help me out, and what do i need to make sure everyone knows iits 100% legit? will i need adult backing?

Are you U.K? My beautiful pregnant lady currently works for a huge charity in N.W and her current program is helping young people achieve exactly what you are describing. You need some like minded people. Friends, family, community members. Then contact your local Princes Trust who will be able to help you. They have a website and probably a local office. If you can impress them you could get £5000 straight away to help you set up premises and other things. You have already impressed both of us. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions. Good luck you are what this world needs Edit: You are not receiving messages so here is my reply: Edit: The Prince's Trust London number is 0207 543 1400. As we are up north I can't comment on their opening hours so keep trying. What you have to understand is that because you are 14 you will need some kind of adult involvement. Parent, friend, teacher any will do. This is to protect you and is also to give you the help you need to be taken seriously. All the training that you could be offered will be valuable in helping you understand how this whole system works. Another company is Young Enterprise 0207 549 1980 web address is www.yelondon.com. If you feel Prince's Trust isn't what you want try them. In our experience it is difficult to have someone listen to your ideas and both of these organizations will not only listen but give you all the advice and hopefully some cash you need to get something started. My beautiful pregnant lady is asleep at the moment and she is the expert but everything I have told you she would agree with. I hope this helps. Feel free to contact us and good luck!
