Volunteer work over summer?

ive done voluntary work in my mums school for the past 6 weeks and i loved it but now there broke up for summer and ive got another 8 weeks till college starts i really want to volunteer in a childrens home or something like that (i am nearly 16) and i live in the derbyshire area any ideas of what i could do?
