Where should I do medical volunteering in Africa?

Free/Cheap volunteering abroad opportunities for high schoolers? (Preferably Africa)?

  • Does anyone know of any free or cheap opportunities to volunteer abroad for high school students? I missed out on my chance to volunteer in Guatemala this summer and I regret it a lot. I know there are many groups who offer this kind of volunteering, but not for teens. Just looking for sources since I seem to be looking in the wrong places. Oh, and I prefer places like Africa or South/Central America. It may seem.. Rude? I feel bad but this is kinda of because these are places I'd like to experience, and I know that isn't the point of volunteering.. but still. Well, thanks for reading, hope to get some leads from here :)

    You just have to demand a curriculum, sent to all embassies or consulates-mailing multiple-All countries have cooperation agreements required by UNESCO. And just wait. Why not be an exchange student? You can volunteer openly in your country of choice and not to mention get a real taste of the culture, language, and people! The Rotary program is the cheapest and most convenient. You can go for a year, month, or summer program! If you want to know more about Rotary exchange, contact me!

There are no cheap or free volunteering abroad opportunities whatsoever for high school students, or for any volunteer who is unskilled and will go only for a few weeks. If you want to go, you have to have a few thousand dollars to cover all of your expenses. Hi, I'm not sure what age you are however this website has many different volunteer programs in Africa and South America etc. They do allow for teenagers to do these volunteer programs, for example 17 year olds etc however you might have to look into it or email them depending on your age. The website is: www.i-to-i.com It's a trustworthy organisation as I've volunteered with them before when I went to Thailand for 5 weeks and taught English as a foreign language. Fortunately they have 24 hour emergency support available, with lovely local people at your destination to help you settle in, they arrange accomodation for you, airport pick up, transfers and so on.
