I need a website that donates things to africa?

• I need a website that you can buy stuff on it and they will give those things to people in africa. I have visited a website before that did this and I can no longer find it or any other website like this. I do not want a website that you donate money to, or one that you buy stuff from then they take the money as a donation.

  So, I couldn't find exactly what you were asking about (I know what you mean though - I knew of one a few years ago but can't remember what it was)... The Samaritan's Purse is close; it has a gift catalog section. You can also do it old-school by finding tangible items organizations need and buying it yourself, then giving/sending it to them. I couldn't find any just now for Africa, but occasionally I see them ask for clothes, school supplies, food staples, etc. Samaritan's Purse has a yearly effort called Operation Christmas Child, where you put your own shoebox of items together for kids. If you do end up giving money, Charity Navigator has a piechart for each charity, showing you how much they spend for the actual programs, versus fund raising and administrative costs. And I personally I feel that the ones who focus on food and water (the absolute basics) are the best use of money. But everyone has a different focus and gets attached to different causes.
