Should Cameras be installed near Daycare, Kindergarten & elementary schools?

  • I say YES. I am in constant fear when I drop my kids to school in the morning. Seems like anyone can just open the gate and simply walk in. If a stranger walks in, atleast his image is captured on the Video and more chances of saving someone before something bad happens. Perps attack where they a less likely to be seen. But cameras will give us advantage in identifying them. Do you think schools should be monitored? Atleast for the safety of our children instead of so-called "My Privacy" krap?

    I think you are 100% right. Just think of the amount of kidnapping that have taken place in those type of areas. Wouldn't it be easier to just look at a camera footage and go 'yep that's the man' Secondly they're kids. I don't get why kids need privacy in those type of areas. Aren't children meant to be watched constantly at school, wouldn't a little camera lessen the staffs work load.

Some already have that. Some have even gone as far as making it able to watch it online. Now that is a bit too much in my eye. Because the same people who can walk in can stalk your children. But, I think that if you opt out they will not film your child. My sister had a daycare for her child where the camera was always running. This was more for helping the daycare against frauds and claims of child abuse and neglect on their part. Cameras are good and bad...so this is a hard question to answer.

It is an unfortunate sign of the times but we do need to have our kids more carefully monitored until we deal more effectively with pedophiles. I think this should be extended to all schools and hundreds of high school students along with coeds disappear annually. Also every child should have a 'safe' word that must be kept within the family before anyone can be allowed to pick up a child of any age. Our communities need an additional treatment centers where people who have these aberrant thoughts so that they can get treatment before they act. This is a complex problem and needs all of these venues to successfully combat this problem..disband NAMBLA and have these men put on some sort of register.
