Where can i volunteer my time?

  • so, im starting college in January till then i want to volunteer any where. i cant get a job because i cant handle going to school full time and working full time. also I'll have to quit my job in jan. so i want to volunteer so i have something to put on a job application in the future in case i need a job when i am in college. so i can say i have some working experience. t just every where i go i get turned down. like the day care i wanted to volunteer at they said'' i had to be taking college classes of going for something working with children.'' then i tired to volunteer at the animal shelter they never called me back. so i start college in 3 moths would like to do something productive for my future like volunteer so i have a impressive job application. i know this sounds awful you can call me a snob but i never work at a fast food joint.

If you are not too picky and are for real, which I doubt, here are a few ideas. All volunteer work takes some commitment bec people WILL depend on you being there. Wishy dreamy dilettantes who need attention are not helpful. A positive cheerful attitude is most important. No one likes watchers, we like to work with doers. the Red Cross. the Salvation Army.. many church groups will find you something to do. Local hospitals. the public library. A food bank in your community. a homeless shelter for women.
