How do you request a Salvation Army store in your area?

I think it would be a wonderful thing if there was a Salvation Army store in my town...How do I go about getting them to put one here? I know I would donate stuff and there are many people here who would readily volunteer to help...

I would contact you area Chamber of Commerce and ask them why they aren't promoting this within your community..they would have the best resources as to why and hows of it all. My county has 1, they are considering a second one because it is becoming over loaded to the point they are paying to have items placed in the dumpster.. and those bills add up quickly.. They really are wonderful resource sites for those who need a cheaper priced item in furniture to computer items.. to clothing, dishes, etc.. And a wonderful place for people to give their items of value when they don't sell at a yard sale! Plus families that have their homes burn down are instantly welcomed to take anything they need to get back on their feet. I work with the handicapped.. so when jobs are very limited in contracts..we have to be creative with how to make money..one way we have found is to recevied "R" rated books from Good Samartian and recycle the ones that are in poor condition, and we have an online listing for books in Amazon for the wonderful novels that are in perfect condition.. but have a political view ... Another resource we receive from them is various pieces of fabric to contruct quilts with... These otherwise useless materials would go to waste in a dumpster.

First, would a Salvation Army Store even work in your town and is anybody else interested in having one there? Second is there one in a near by town? If you can get enough people interested in such a store it might improve your chances of getting one.
