Would my irrelevant work experience be a problem?

If I want to volunteer somewhere, will it be a problem if I don't have much work experience?

  • Answer:

no way, actually it's the opposite when it comes work, if u want to get a real job with pay, it might be a problem if u dont have VOLUNTEER EXERIENCE but now you should have no problem in going somewhere to volunteer, some organizations might have an application form just like a part-time job so u have to fill, hand in then u might get called for interview however only some organizations have these processes not all... good luck and just to conclude, no you don't necessarliy have to have work experience because a volunteer CAN LEAD to work experience or help u in getting an actual job experience in the future, hope this helped and this is from my own experience

Not at all! When I started volunteering I was only 13, so I had no work experience at all! They teach you everything you need to know to do the job you are volunteering to do.

Volunteering is where you get work experience from. It should depend on what you'll be doing, but most of they'll take the help they can get.

as an volunteer what is most important is ones attitude and sensitivity towards the needs of the less fortunate... the necessary skills can be picked up on your assignment. good luck

Hi: well according to "Voccational Training it would give you the experiances which an Student gets from O.J .T Program yes I has worked for Arrowhead Medical Center with Department Foods& Nurtition also CertifideFood Prep has degree in Food Services Management visit http://ojt.voccational.careers.org

In most cases when you volunteer, you don't necessarily need experience, it depends on where you are volunteering, and most places will give you at least basic training, if it is needed. Volunteer at animal shelters, you don't need training or work experience to clean cages, feed animals, or walk them. Or you can volunteer as a baby holder in the hospital. Many hospitals need volunteers to hold babies that need to remain in the hospital after their mom's have been released. Some a crack addicted babies, for other babies there may be other issues as to why parents can't be there. Babies need human contact in order to thrive and in most Neo-Natal units there aren't enough nurses or time.

Depends on where you want to volunteer, maybe, but usually you dont have to have much experience. People will just be glad that you're volunteering.

No it should not be a problem, most places that use volunteers will put some other volunteer with you to show you the ropes. I have worked as a volunteer in a hospital and they were glad to get all the help that most volunteers would give.

No experience needed! They will be happy to train you. My wife volunteers at the hospital at least once a week, sometimes more. She told her friend how much she enjoyed it, so her friend signed up as a volunteer. If you don't have much work experience, here's a way to get some. Go to it!!!!!!!!
