If all of the ice melted, the sea levels would rise, costal states and cities would be severely flooded or destroyed; and in order for the ecosystem to balance out, another ice age would occur...

it is so massive it would flood the earth

world war three ... ..as the superpowers all try to claim for themselves the natural resources (esp oil)in the newly exposed continent

as the polar caps melt is of course will fllod. but some other effects it will have is it will throw off the salinity of the water. once that happens it can effect the climate (i have no clue how)

lol you have to watch Al Gore's movie, i forgot what it was called, or watch The Day After Tomorrow. All the great cities, such as Tokyo, Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, and New Orleans, would be flooded and an estimated amount of over a billion people would die. Something like New Orleans ( Hurricane Katrina) Would happen to the world, and every great port city.

Arctic ice melts and nothing happens. It's already floating on the sea so the net rise in sea level is zero. There are other issues to do with the amount of fresh water in the salty water. If land based ice melts, as in Greenland or antarctica then there are problems with rising sea levels.
