Is it true that animal testing is funded by us?

What is your opinion about animal testing and how it is portrayed in the media?

  • What is your opinion about animal testing and how it is portrayed in the media? I have to do a project (an ACP) for my Citizenship GCSE and I have decided to do the topic of animal testing and how it is portrayed in the media. I would like to do a survey, so please answer the following questions (How much you agree with each statement): Key: 1=I definitely agree, 2= I moderately agree, 3= I don't know, 4= I moderately don't agree, 5= I definitely don't agree. Q1. I know enough about animal testing to form an opinion. Q2. I think animal testing should be done. Q3. I think that the media is biased when portraying animal testing and related issues. Q4. I would like to learn more about animal testing. Also, it would be helpful if you could also write your rough age band (20-30, 30-40 etc.), country and gender.

Q1=3, Q2=2, Q3=2, Q4=2; USA 55 male Animals can seem pretty smart, and I don't see why the extent of their abilities should be tested. I've also seen tricks, which made an animal seem smart, but actually was using a natural talent.

It depends, some is done humanely for very good reasons and provides information that improves the world, some is done for very poor reasons and done in very cruel ways. Animal testing is portraryed in the media (the "popular" media) the same way almost everything is portraryed, with bias and, generally, with very low journalistic standards. I believe this is because so much of our popular media today is owned by large corporations which are focused on making their stock price go up rather than providing good journalism or "fair and balanced" scientific or technical information. There are still a few exceptions to this, a few news organizations that still adhere to very high journalistic ethics and standards, Public Radio and Public TV to name two. So... Q1 - 1 Q2 - 1 Q3 - 1 Q4 - 3 I am male, American, and 40-60
