Why do my eyes change colors when i cry?

• i already have a pretty rare eye color i have a hazel kid of color. but my eyes change a lot 1. when the tempeture is different outside 2. when i cry my eyes get a bright green and sometimes they are just a mixed color they have never appeared blue but i have seen them in a mirror an almost gray green color can anyone answer why any of these things effect my eye color and why do they change colors

  Eye color is determined primarily by the concentration and distribution of melanin pigment on the iris fibers. The iris is located inside the eye, between the cornea and the internal crystalline lens. The hole in the middle is called the pupil and it changes size to regulate the amount of light entering the eye. If the iris contains pigment on both the front and back surface, the incident light that reflects off the iris is brown. Sometimes there is little or no pigment on the front surface. The light interacts with the gray iris fibers and reflects as blue. The size and spacing of the fibers determines the "blueness" or "greenness' of the reflected light. So, the next time you sob, make sure you do it under a dim light. Lesser the light , lesser will you get to see the change. Hope this helps.
