What is cloning?

What are your opinions on animal (endangered/extinct and general) cloning?

• Answer:

  I think that in moderation cloning is morally acceptable because even though the host and clone have the same DNA, it has been reported that the two do not have the same personality and that in many cases they act differently. This may be an example of a soul or just as simple as nature vs nurture. As for cloning endangered species, there are advantages as well as disadvantages. It is good if the species is essential to their ecosystem and food chain. This can eventually help to prevent the extinction of other species that may depend on them. One disadvantage however is a lack of genetic variation which can seriously hurt the further development and even evolution of the cloned species. Hope that answers your question...
