What would be the manipulated variable and the responding variable?
-
I am doing an experiment with mice. I will have each one listen to a different type of genre of music , while doing a maze . I need to know what will be the manipulated variable and the responding variable in this test . Thank you !

Answer:
The manipulated variable is the music genre. The responding variable is their performance or behavior in the maze test. You'll need some way to actually quantify their performance in the maze. One such way to do this might be to measure the average time it takes them to complete the maze. In this case, the responding variable would be the average completion time.

You are manipulating or changing the music. The mice are responding to the manipulation.
