• ☼☼"Alright, so I have this paper for science, and Im not sure how to approach it. Here's the prompt: "An alien lands on earth and asks you 'Which is living, a clock or a fish?' Your essay must be written in Proper English writing format. Write in complete, well thought-out, flowing sentences and paragraphs. First compare what the clock and fish have in common. Then contrast the living and nonliving characteristics. Review...[previous folders] and incorporate all the topics we studied: atoms, molecules, biological molecules, characteristics of life, life processes, energy transfer, web of life, sustainability, optimum living conditions, ecology, etc." I already have a rough draft and stuff. I would just like to know how else I may approach this. Could I possibly prove that a clock is as living as a fish, and that a fish is as nonliving as a clock? Or should I just stick with literallity [I believe that's not a word, but who cares], and just acknowledge the as stated guidelines. I need somethin' special, I need my paper to have something no one else's will; other than voice that is. Im not asking for you guys to write me a paper, just give me some key tips/add-ins for it."☼☼ Is what Ive previously asked. Now, I need to know, how is it possible for me to prove that the they are both living and non living. How can they both be considered as one of the two? Also, is there a better categorization of this question?

  first I would ask the alien: based on conditions in YOUR universe, are YOU living or non living ? His form could be based on silicon or other substance that is NOT carbon, the basis of all LIFE that we know.
