Ideas for science experiment?

I need to do a self directed science experiment and I'd like it to be something that's nice and fast, but interesting? It also needs to be related to some global issue... but that part can be bent a little since last year I did music effects on heart rates, and I somehow managed to relate that to obesity so yeah Any help is appreciated xx
