How to detect an image in Matlab?

Image analysis using Matlab?

  • I need to analyse a set of confocal images wherein I need to find the shape parameters like the curvature and the area of a certain part of the image (throughout the various confocal slices of the image). I know that this can be done through Matlab programs. However, I have no previous knowledge of Matlab programming (or any other programming for that matter). Needless to say, I don't know how to write algorithms which can carry out all the required functions and give me the desired data. Could anyone please suggest any books which give a fundamental idea of matlab programming in image analysis.

  • Answer:

One very good book on that topic is: Digital Image Processing using Matlab Rafael Gonzalez, Richard Woods, Steven Eddins Pearson - Prentice Hall http://matrixlab-examples.com/matlab-books.html This is an introduction to images with Matlab http://matrixlab-examples.com/rgb-images.html Good luck! .

Image Processing Toolbox™ provides a comprehensive set of reference-standard algorithms and graphical tools for image processing, analysis, visualization, and algorithm development. You can perform image enhancement, image deblurring, feature detection, noise reduction, image segmentation, spatial transformations, and image registration. Many functions in the toolbox are multithreaded to take advantage of multicore and multiprocessor computers.
