Can regular glass withstand candle heat?

  • I'm looking to buy a nice candle stand that comes with a sort of glass beaker on top. However, I'd like it to be functional as well as decorative. I'm not sure that the beaker included is safe to heat as it doesn't seem to be any kind of special, heat-resistant glass like Pyrex or something. So, my question is, can ordinary glass withstand the heat that would come from a small votive-like candle beneath it?
