actually a white xmas is silly. Bethlehem where jesus was born, has a Mediterranean climate. xmas should really have palm trees and 75F and sunshine to have true xmas weather

Not just in the southern hemisphere, there are places in the equatorial and tropical belt where Christmas is relatively "summer-like".No snow ,no white Christmas.But it still is celebrated like it is celebrated in colder climates.The difference is that it is celebrated like a summer festival. As for the time zones ,everything is relative. Japan,land of the rising sun and some islands celebrate new year first followed by the next western time zone and so on.So, there's this wonderfull opportunity to usher in the new year more than once,ie if you have a supersonic flying machine by your side.Anyway ,I guess Americans living in the southern hemisphere would have to celebrate The 4th of July in winter,don't you think?
