How did the dinosaurs all evolve in 6,000 years?

    People (like your pastor) who believe the earth is 6,000 years old, do not believe that dinosaurs evolved. Most do not believe in evolution at all (i.e. some believe that some evolution (change) is possible, but only the very short-term change such as that seen in breeds of dogs). And a few do not even believe in dinosaurs. I object to Mack's statement that all Christians have these beliefs. I am a Catholic and I do not think the world is 6,000 years old ... and neither do most Christians. (Catholics form the largest denomination of Christians in the world ... over half the world's Christians are Catholics.) I also disagree with ghost77's implication that "bible-believing Christians" hold these beliefs. Again, when millions of Christians do NOT believe that the earth was created in 6 literal days or 6,000 years ago, it would be arrogant to say that they "don't believe in the Bible." If you don't believe me, then see the Clergy Letter Project. Your pastor is wrong. Science has proven that dinosaurs were on the earth for a lot longer then 6,000 years and that the earth is extremely old. Some people believe otherwise because they take the bible literally word for word but most well educated christains believe science is correct and that the bible was not meant to be taken literally.

Your pastor may mean well, but he's ignorant, and he has no business passing his ignorance along to young people. Your teacher is right; one line of dinosaurs did evolve into birds, and, in fact, birds are a type of dinosaur. All the other dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago when an asteroid six miles in diameter hit the earth near the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Birds, specifically finches, have been noticed to change over a period of even a single year. Peter and Rosemary Grant at Princeton University have made these observations in the Galapagos Islands.

Whoa, what creationist backwater do you live in. The universe is 13.7 Billion years old. The earth is at least 4.5 Billion years old. Life is at least 500 millions years old. The dinosaurs died off 65 million years ago. Your pastor is an idiot, and you can tell him I said that, and your teacher happens to be correct. Get away from the preacher and listen to the teacher.

you're combining two different belief systems, that are extreme opposites of each other. (christianity/science) Christiniaty says, the world is very young, science says its very old, science says dino's took thousands to millions of years to evolve a little. Christianity, says god put the dino skeletons there to 'test mans faith' Christiniaty, says no such thing as evolution

Your pastor i am guessing believes the Bible. The Bible says that God created the earth in six days. Most creationists estimate the earth's age to be around 6000 years. Evolutionists believe that life has evolved over million/billions of years. Your pastor and teacher believe two completely different things.
