Why do eggs float by adding salt to water?

i did a science project and and egg floats by adding salt of the same amount whether its natural sea salt or common salt. how would i graph with two charts about my pprject???

Answer:
Something floats if the weight of the volume of liquid displaced is higher than the weight of the object. This means that three things are important in determining whether your egg floats or not, the weight of the egg, the volume of the egg, and the weight of the water that the egg displaces. In your experiment, the weight of the egg didn't change. Nor did the volume of the egg. That means that you were changing the weight of the water displaced! Salt water is heavier than fresh water. The more salt you added, the more dense the water got. (Density is weight divided by volume, so when we say something is more dense, it means that a fixed volume is heavier.) When the density of the water got high enough that the water displaced by the egg weighed more than the egg, the egg started to float. I need to know more about your experiment to help you with a chart, but you probably need to have the amount of salt added on the X axis and whatever you were measuring on the Y axis. Since sea salt and table salt have the same effect on water, you should expect the results to be similar.

theres a small amount of air in eggs also the salt water is bouyant ever hear of the great salt lake it floats people

Salt dissolves in the water changing the density of the water and creating positive buoyancy and makes the egg float to the top.

You are changing the bouyancy of the water in relationship to the egg.

By adding salt to water, it made the water become denser. A denser liquid will support objects with more weight than a less dense liquid would. The salt water is denser than the plain water. When you put the egg in the salt water, it is able to float. Same thing happens when we in the ocean, we float around easier than if we were in a regular swimming pool. The salt water is denser than swimming pool water making it easier to support our weight. When we are in salty water, we float more easily or feel more buoyant.
