How to program a remote with the TV turned off?

I remember a random TV program or movie scene (random scene) and then 2 or 3 days later I see it on TV, how?

• Ever since I was a child, like around 13 years old, as any other kid I used to watch cartoons regularly, then one day I'd just remember a scene of a TV program, a funny dialogue for example, about two or three, and some times the next day, that same exact episode is on air, and I coincidentally turned on the TV and the right time, and stop changing the channel because I watch that scene I had remembered a while ago, at random time... and Is not that I watched only one TV program and had very few episodes. No, it used to happen with various programs I used to watch when I was a kid.... years later and kept happening, with me like... a little shocked, wondering HOW? or WHY???. This week the last time I experienced this again, I randomly remembered the credits ending of the movie Nutty Professor 2, The next few days I turned the the TV on and there it was the movie, however this time, I was not as accurate because it was the first movie, not the second. But anyways... I can't really remember any more examples, but seriously!!! Or the other day, I remember certain scene from a 2012 movie, and a few days later I watched... Is not that I watch too much TV, in fact since last March 2011 I started working a full-time job and I am a Senior High School student, so I barely watch TV... I don't even know how to ask this...any reference as to this type of experiences?

  It's mostly confirmation bias. You see what you expect to see. You remember what matches your expectations and forget what doesn't. TV is full of reruns.
