What to do about an ant bite?

What ant in TX is 1/2" long and moves in short jerky movements. Bite is very painfuls. Red, brown & black.

  • The ant in question is a solitary ant and is very aggressive. My daughter was bitten not too long ago and I was too years back. I have tried to indentify this ant through the internet but was not succesful. The ant is slender, with medium length legs. The color is a brown to red and it move in quick, short jerky movements. I have never seen these ants with other ants. All I know is that they have a very painful bite/sting that lasts for hours.

  • Answer:

In Florida, we call it a "cow killer". They are very hard to kill and I believe that they are some kind of wingless bee.

I think it's a fire ant... they suck. I have been bitten by lots of them at the same time, I was in pain for about a week trying to figure out how to get it to stop burning.
